Smiley 5 Obama calls for talks with Iran over Iraq

Quote:
Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama on Tuesday called for a "diplomatic surge" including talks with US foe Iran, to help stabilize the situation in Iraq.

The Illinois Senator battling Hillary Clinton for his party's nomination called for more pressure on the Iraqi government to embrace political reconciliation and a regional "diplomatic surge that includes Iran."

"We should be talking to them as well," Obama told the top US General in Iraq David Petraeus and US ambassador to Baghdad Ryan Crocker.

"I do not believe we are going to be able to stabilize the situation without that" said Obama, adding that a plan for US troop withdrawals was needed to force Iraqi factions to work together.

WiseOne's Comments, that'll do as much good as Obama calling for talks with the crack of my white azz.

What an idiot. Well, they must be laughing at all this to say the least. They've (terrorists) finally won over here and there with all this lunacy going on. I've said it before and will say it again, there are too many people who really believe we can hold hands and sing "we are the world......................." We've played right into their hands and they've had the patience to wait it out

We did, I am sorry to say. I supported it, but now I admit my mistake. Iran was terrified of Saddam and we took out their arch enemy. It WAS a mistake in hindsight. Now you have Jimmy Carter going over talking to Hamas! Colluding with terrorists man! I absolutely DESPISE Jimmy Carter. This country will now fall and is already in the process of doing so, period. Iran ONLY respects fear and a heavy hand...that is not a problem with them now.

Jimmy Carter maybe the most sorriest President in modern American history, but I am willing to give him a chance.
Why I am giving him a chance? If he sit down and arrange peace between Israel and Sadat. Then I am willing to see whatever he could bring with Hamas.
Sometimes it is better to calm down a lion instead of killing it.
