Thumbs down Stock Markets Continue Plunge Worldwide 22 Jan 08

Quote:
TOKYO (AP) -- Global stock markets extended their shakeout into a second day Tuesday, plunging amid worries that a possible U.S. recession will cause a worldwide economic slowdown. The dramatic declines were expected to spread to Wall Street, where stock index futures were already down sharply hours before the trading day began.

WiseOne's Comments, This is only the beginning if people look at reality. The stock markets have been far too hot for far too long on false premises and no solid foundation. American's are going to wake up now as it will finally hit them personally and that's the only way their apathy will stop.

Here's a really good queston. Someone please give me a good answer.

Why does the Fed always drop the rates this much when the economy is in trouble? Instead of dropping the rates this low when the economy is doing good?

Keep in mind, I know the rates are dropped some, when the economy is doing good. But they never drop them this drastically.

It only worries people. Just look at the stock market today. It's falling like a friggin brick. A big heavy brick.

At 3:44 Eastern Time, the Dow is down 92 points or .77%, hardly a brick.

All a person has to do is make trading decisions that are the exact opposite of what Hrdman2luv and Wiseone are thinking.

A person could make a fortune.

I took out my 401k last month. Why, because what everyone is saying. Because of what it was doing.
I lost over $1,000 in less than a month. Every day, I watched it go down down down. And that was my decision. And a darn good one. Because the investments that I was making, have continued to fall. To the point now, that the losses those stocks had, have lost almost as much as the taxes I paid to withdraw the 401K. And by next week, I will have come out ahead. When the stocks start heading back up, I will re-invest. That, my friend, is good judgement. Saving my money is always good.

So you sold out at the lowest price so far. Not a very good strategy.
