I was for Dennis Kucinich until I heard of Ron Paul. The rest of the politicians just plain suck. The sooner you realize this, the better.
You forgot to mention he loaded legislation with "ear-marks" and voted against the legislation; KNOWING it would pass anyway.

I:
  1. never voted to raise taxes
  2. never voted for an unbalanced budget
  3. never voted for a federal restriction on gun ownership
  4. never taken a government paid junket
  5. never voted to increase the power of the executive
  6. never voted against the patriot act
  7. never voted against regulating the internet
  8. never voted against the iraq war
  9. do not participate in the lucrative congressional pension program
  10. return a portion of my salary to the US treasury each year

Ironically, time proved him right. He predicted that the current economical policy would prove disastrous and was one of the main opponent of the Iraq War. Though he is the member of a dying branch of the Republican party, he would have been a very fitting candidate for the presidency because, unlike McCain, he is capable when it comes to the economy.

Persuasion? Conservative Party
And unlike what you said, he was never a part of the conservative party. HMMMM>>>> McCain warned about Fanny Mae 3 years ago and was ignored! Believe me, I am no fan of McCain! I think you're way off base if you think Obama has a grasp of the economy! He's wallowing in Frank's cesspool!

And Paul has been in the Republican party since the time of Reagan.
