Angry Hundreds of New Testaments torched in Israel

Quote:
JERUSALEM (CNN) -- Police in Israel are investigating the burning of hundreds of New Testaments in a city near Tel Aviv, an incident that has alarmed advocates of religious freedom.

Investigators plan to review photographs and footage showing "a fairly large" number of New Testaments being torched this month in the city of Or-Yehuda, a police spokesman, Micky Rosenfeld, said Wednesday.

The episode has worried defenders of Israel's minority population of Messianic Jews, who consider themselves Jewish but believe in the divinity of Jesus, as do Christians. It also has concerned evangelical Christians in North America, Europe and Asia, who visit Israel by the hundreds of thousands.

WiseOne's Comments, I seriously do not understand WHY they would do that as if there aren't enough Bibles in the world...WEIRD. Hm, I might get a bunch of Koran's this weekend and make a bonfire to cook some hot dogs on (pork), and then piss on the fire, after done, to put it out. That's how ridiculous ALL of this is man.

Why would you get Korans? I'm lost...are you wondering about why they saved 200 bibles from being burned? "as if there aren't enough Bibles in the world"...I'm not sure that's what you meant to say.

However, I'm equally confused about why you would get a bunch of Korans to burn when the article makes it clear it was Jews who burned the bibles. Wouldn't you want to get Torahs...?

LOL, no, I was making a point as to how STUPID it is to burn books these days. It isn't like the time of Alexander The Great here, LOL. I wouldn't burn any books EXCEPT Bill and Hillary's books, hehe. Just think if we DID burn the Koran...Muslims would be smearing doo all over there faces in utter rage and they would be in the streets protesting...burn New Testaments, BARELY a blip on the radar. Heck, burn a Hindu's book (whatever it is, IDK), and they would drink gallons of cow piss in rage...yet, BARELY a blip on the radar when New Testaments are burned. A wee bit lopsided here if you ask me.

1) You still dont answer the point. If the people who burned those new testaments were Jews, why does your post talks about actions made against the Muslim community (Or Hindu's for that matter) ?

2) It off the radar because it was done in Israel by a population that can get away with doing this. If some Jewish group had done this on American soil, you would have heard much more about this.

3) New question, how can christians still have an actual sense of persecution in the western world after nearly 1700 years of dominance?

Nobody I know of is burning books! If there is, I guess there should be questions asked, whther it be Islam, Hindu or Christian.

Anybody can feel persecuted Antiochus, you have relayed that feeling to me. In any case there are a couple of groups that, archeologically speaking, can lay claim to the dead sea scrolls. James, the supposed brother of Jesus and the Ebionites, for one. And they were not too friendly or willing to turn the other cheek either. Many Holy scriptures were left out of the Bible for various reasons. Some directly contradicted each other, but most were not deemed necessary to please the peasants and have them fall into line. Does that make me believe less, not in the least, most ancient doctrines support each other in their historical events and increase my faith. There has been much burning of books throughout history that hasn't been necessary since most of the populace couldn't read anyway, but when it came to sheer domination of a country you had to burn it all. I can't even fathom what we lost with the burning of the library in Alexandria. Islam was created almost a millenia after Christianity. Does it make it any more or less feasible, nope! But there are no claims of rape, child molestation, and incest in Jesus' background like there are in Muhammed's, which, after thorough reading are the rants of a madman singular with power in an ever fluctuating world. I don't think any Christian has a sense of persecution except in the fact that there are a few atheists that whine about us having "In God we trust" or something of that sort, and claim it is a detriment to their lives. I've got news for you, it's been around for a long time and this nation believes in God 86%, so, can it, before we start getting fed up with your B.S. squeeking wheels. If you don't believe in God, You don't have to pledge allegiance, you don't have to hold our money, you don't have to do anything, so you don't have anything to ##### about! Why should all of us conform to your blankness, when we don't ask you to abide with our belief in eternal life? You can make your choice and nobody forces you to do anything!

Wise one? Would you actually spread out to piss on that? Sorry to say, I'd pretend to be a log, pervert and lover of nature that I am. I don't think there's anything here that King James wouldn't subscribe, I didn't see it, Damn-it, but I know it was pleasant! Smelling and Tasting!
