hello jamwadmag. my first post here, and i should make a splash. the lords prayer is a formula, and so repeating it falls into the catagory of knowledge without understanding, in my book anyway. i am amazed that with some 80% of american population claiming some level of belief/worship in/of the judeo christian god, so many ppl say america is a godless society. doesn't the bible, or rather, your jesus say that where two or three are gathered in his name, he will be there also? well, there are some 50% of americans gathered under this nation as christians, so they are gathered in his name. so again, i have to wonder how it could be said ours is a godless society. and christians insist this nation was founded upon christianity, so they would be gathered in his name... i am also puzzled when there is handwringing about prayer being disallowed in school. i cant see that ever being the case, unless we finally arrive at some high level of mind control. you see, your god is supposed to be in your hearts and minds. if that is so, then your god can never be removed from school. i suspect what you are wishing for is the ability to pray audibly, like the proud pharisses did, in public, and to impress. of course, your jesus warned against that.

Are you afraid of our Jesus? What did he ever do to you? Our Republic and Constitution were founded on inalienable rights granted by our creator. Whether you do or do not agree that a creator exists or that Jesus walked the earth, do you have the right to silence prayer in schools? Or public free speech? Or prayer at the beginning of a town hall meeting? I would suggest that if you are afraid to opine, then don't. But don't tell other people what they can or cannot believe in, don't participate if it isn't to your liking. And then move on with your agenda.

Prayer in school I am totally against forced prayer in schools. If we as a nation must condition out children to pray in school, what God do we pray to? We are not a Christian nation. We are a nation of religions. I adamently disagree that the US must force any student to pray to "MY" God and not "their" God. For the last seven plus years we have been closer to a Christian Theoracy than a Republic. It doesn't take an Einstein to realize that the last seven plus years have been a disaster for the American people. Using religion as a baseline the US has used torture and war to implement its political goals. Our Crusade in Iraq is a classic example. Bush43 stated that he has talked to God and God hand picked him to be president. I also talk to God but it is one way. It is called prayer. I pray on my time and when I want to. I do not want any government to tell me when and how to pray. A classic cliche is "You tell me how to vote and I will tell you how to pray". Personally, I see no difference between the Christian intollerence of other religions by our religious nuts, and the Muslim intollerence by their reliigious nuts. They are both the same. The King James version of the Bible was rewritten from the ancient scrolls during the Dark Ages. Witches and "non-believers' were murdered and/or burned at the steak. One would project that King James had a lot to do with the wording of the Bible. Galileo was almost killed because he stated that the earth moved around the Sun. One can assume that there are many statements that were biased and written a certain way or the writer would receive a very painful death. I am not criticising the Bible. I am very religious. However, to state that the King James version of the Bible is absolutely the world of God is nonsense. It is a tool that God used to inform individuals how to live and how to believe in him and his demands. Christian religious nuts are forced to use the Bible as an absolute. If they didn't there would be no need for them. With all due respect. I would like to pray to my God on my terms. I do not want any government Christian or otherwise to tell me how and when to pray. wdp

There was a savior of the world. He was born on dec 25 by a virgin. He was visited by 3 kings. He was then taken away to escape infantcide. At the age of 12 he taught in the temples and amazed the cleric elders. AT the age of 30 he was baptized and started his ministry. He healed the sick. He brought the dead back to life and walked on water. At the age of 33 he was arrested and crucified. On the 3rd day he rose from the dead and ascended to heaven. His name was Horus. About 1000 years before the time of Jesus! And there are about 15 more saviors of the world with the same story! This is not opinion! This is historical fact. Most christains don't know how the christain faith came about. They don't know world history nor the history of the church or the bible. most do not even know where the word church came from and what it really means. Most of you reading this will be angry at me for writing this. However, you should be angry at yourselves. you took the word of a corrupt Roman Emperor and a corrupt church. Don't feel too bad. so did I. So I will give you another window or door to open to search for god. Go to Google video and watch the following videos... Proof of a creator Unlocking the mysteries of life Zeitgeist The naked truth I give you this gift so one might break the chains of the church and realize that we are all one with god if we seek him. The Creator gave us a brain and an opposing thumb for a reason. We are not to be sheep! That's what the Roman emperor wanted. We are not to be trapped in dogma and superstition! That's what the church wants...
