Water Hot4 Secession Movements Gaining Traction In America - I Am Deeply Worried

Quote:
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. - In an unlikely marriage of desire to secede from the United States, two advocacy groups from opposite political traditions — New England and the South — are sitting down to talk.

Tired of foreign wars and what they consider right-wing courts, the Middlebury Institute wants liberal states like Vermont to be able to secede peacefully.
That sounds just fine to the League of the South, a conservative group that refuses to give up on Southern independence.
"We believe that an independent South, or Hawaii, Alaska, or Vermont would be better able to serve the interest of everybody, regardless of race or ethnicity," said Michael Hill of Killen, Ala., president of the League of the South.

Quote:
What Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, Rudy Giuliani, Fred Thompson, or any of the other yahoos running for president have to say about anything is of virtually no importance whatsoever. There is but one issue on the table that really matters - - Iran. When will Bush and Cheney bomb Iran? Not only will that issue define the future of the Middle East but also the future of the United States and the rest of the world.

The only way the Bush administration’s neocon mafia can possibly save face after our humiliating defeats in Afghanistan and Iraq is by taking out Iran’s nuclear program. The Israeli Likudites will, of course, settle for nothing less.

To prepare the American people and the rest of the world for what is about to happen to Iran, the White House will rev up its anti-Iranian propaganda machine to the highest possible performance level. A four-step scenario is envisioned.

First, the State Department and the Pentagon will ratchet up the process of demonizing Iran - - a process that can be traced back to 1979 when the U.S. Embassy in Tehran was taken over by Iranian militants. Much of the attention will be focused on President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

Second, there will most likely be a series of false flag terrorist attacks in Europe and possibly the United States in which Iran will be portrayed as the villain.

Third, Osama bin Laden will go through some type of transformation process so that he is made to appear to be an ally of Iran.

Fourth, in a classic bait-and-switch routine, General David Petraeus will inform the American people that it is actually Iran not Iraq that is the real threat to the United States. There will be a dramatic reduction in American troops in Iraq leaving only enough to “protect” Iraq’s petroleum producing infrastructure. All eyes will be on Iran.

No doubt there will be a continuation of the charade of pretending to involve the United Nations Security Council with the Iran problem, but China and Russia will remain noncommittal. Bush will soon discover that there are even fewer countries with the stomach to invade Iran than there were with Iraq. Israel and Poland will be on board, but few other countries will be.

At this point it is unclear whether Israel or the Pentagon will strike first. It really doesn’t matter. Nor is it clear whether conventional weapons or tactical nuclear weapons will be deployed. What is clear is that Iran is not Iraq. It is much larger, much wealthier, much more powerful militarily, and has some very influential friends, most notably, China and Russia.

Likely targets of Iran’s retaliatory wrath include Israel, the Straits of Hormuz, Saudi Arabia, Lebanon and the American troops stationed in Kuwait and Iraq. How Iran’s two major trading partners, China and Russia, will respond remains an open question.

At least initially, Americans will be euphoric. Recall that 95 percent of Americans approved the first war in Iraq in 1991. But reality will soon set in.

Worldwide, anti-Americanism will soar, terrorism will surge upwards, and it will no longer be possible to rule out the possibility of World War III - - a war between the haves and the have nots, between Muslims and non-Muslims, and between oil consumers and oil producers. And, as if that were not enough, the price of oil could easily exceed $100 per barrel, gasoline prices will probably reach $5.00 per gallon, and gold could top $1,000 per troy ounce.

If Team Bush designates Condoleezza Rice as the point person for the invasion of Iran, then she, not Hillary, could very well be the next president.

In the unlikely event that Team Bush gets cold feet and opts out of invading Iran, Iran may still not be out of the woods. Neither Hillary Clinton nor Barack Obama has ruled out the possibility of invading Iran.

This is a grim tale about some very grim people, our National Leaders. I wish it were otherwise.

WiseOne's Comments, I am DEEPLY concerned over all these "rumblings" of secession and even war with Iran. I feel the nation of America simply cannot stand like this much longer. It cannot be sustained. I like this Thomas Naylor and he has some good points. MAYBE I was wrong on some things and I need to think outside the box a bit. I seriously don't know what to think with all of this at times. I do know that we are in very serious, troubling times though. I do not have all the answers, of course, but I think we all had better think about this and HARD before it's too late. It may already be too late now. America IS falling, period. Think it can't happen? WRONG! It can, it is, and it WILL. People, I am open to ANY and all suggestions as to how to proceed from this point onward. I feel it in my bones at this point and I feel this all is IMMINENT. What can we do? How can we STOP America from falling and keep Iran from threatening the world as well? HOW can we deal with a country, like Iran, who says they want to MURDER entire nations, races, and peoples? Sheesh, we are stuck in a bad spot right now. I am an open-minded person........let's talk!

As far as tennesee seceding from the rest , not happenin.

I iran continued diplomatic measures until they are exhausted and exhausted .
The first bomb iran would drop would most likely be on isreal not the us.
In that for instance the world will then support movement into iran.
Until they grow balls they will most likly just keep funneling weapons& funds through syria then into lebanon for the continued pain in isreals ###.

There is no state in the union that could function without the gooberment money that gets handed out. As soon as any state figures this out all talk of secession will end.

Your post established the fact that Iran is an independent terrorist supporting nation. But it did not answer my question in the slightest. Matter of fact it never even came close to answering it.

Please try again.

Let me say this. The United States of America will most likely have a 2nd civil war. The problem stems from Liberal and conservative organzations and groups. Lets take a look at Moveon. org, the hertiage foundations and the personalties like Rush Limbaugh, Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, among others.

I know in my pass posts in here are based on anger and hatred of the liberals and conservatives. I want to pled with everyone lets get along. lets have some understanding.

Let me add on here.

This is an email I sent to the two anti-american organzations.

Quote:
The Union now and the Union forever. Your statement is trailous towards the soilders, past and present, to preserve this union, these United States of America.

Of course, we, as Americans are having problems as of late. At least, some honest people have suck it up and planned on running for office to make change and fight instead of acting like an immature child who will not come out and play.

The United States is the South and the North as well as the East and the west. We are a nation, ONE NATION, under GOD.

In closing let me state this.

"But every difference of opinion is not a difference of principle. We have called by different names brethren of the same principle. We are all Republicans, we are all Federalists. If there be any among us who would wish to dissolve this Union or to change its republican form, let them stand undisturbed as monuments of the safety with which error of opinion may be tolerated where reason is left free to combat it."
-Thomas Jefferson 1801

Wise One

You have every reason to be worried about the state of this nation. We are living in revolutionary times indeed. May God be with us.
