Unhappy Absurd; Obama's 143 Day Experience

Got this from a friend:

Quote:
Absurd

The first time I read this quote, I thought it was dangerously true. Then I really started pondering it and thought how would this apply to our own lives/careers?

§You couldn't get a job at McDonalds and become district manager after 143 days of experience.
§You couldn't become chief of surgery after 143 days of experience of being a surgeon.
§You couldn't become a partner in a law firm or a judge after 143 days of being an attorney.
§You couldn't get a job as a teacher and be the superintendent after 143 days of experience.
§You couldn't join the military and become a general after 143 days of experience.
§You couldn't get a job as a reporter and become the nightly news anchor after 143 days of experience.

BUT....

From the time Barack Obama was sworn in as a United State Senator, to the time he announced he was forming a Presidential exploratory committee, he logged 143 days of experience in the Senate. That's how many days the Senate was actually in session and working. After 143 days of work experience, Obama believed he was ready to be Commander In Chief, Leader of the Free World, and fill the shoes of Abraham Lincoln, FDR, JFK and Ronald Reagan. 143 days?

We all have to start somewhere. The senate is a good start, but after 143 days, that's all it is - a start. Inexplicably, a large sector of the American public seems to feel comfortable with this and continues to campaign for him.

You wouldn't accept this in our own line of work, yet some voters are OK with this for the President of the United States of America?

Come on folks, we are not voting for the next American Idol.

But then again he used to be a member of the Illinois senate for four years and has a lot of related experience as a Lawyer. Selective memory is so flawed these days.

LOL, yea, John Edwards has a lot of experience as a lawyer/ambulance chaser as well. Being a lawyer means nothing to me for someone seeking the Presidency. John McCain has had MANY years of experience compared to Barack Obama...

Of course, but McCain showed that his experience was not representative of his competence during the market crisis. He ran in, waved at cameras and claimed victory before lerning it failed.

Also, dont downplay Obama experience in the Illinois Senate.

Again, I wish your english teacher was present. John McCain floated a bill 3 years ago warning about the impending crisis of Fanny Mae and Freddy Mac, but no one wanted to listen. Now everybody is in cover their ### mode and Barak is at the top of Fanny Mae political contributions and one of his top economic advisors raped almost $100 million from taxpayers in his six years as the head. Can you say Franklin Raines. Another of Hussein's dubious associations that call into question, his judgement!

Oh yeah, Illinois Senate votes are "present" I guess that means he was Saint Nick before he was on his way to becoming the Messiah! The guy never made a definitive decision on anything definitive in his entire life!
