Smiley 1 Truckers Forum Politics Crack Down

Truckers Love Politics. We have cracked down on our Truckers Forum and will now send them here to get down and dirty. We started this politics forum due to a need for serious political debate. We STILL allow political talk on the truck forum, but if ALL they want to do is be rabid about politics, they should come here.

If you cant discuss politics, which the last time I checked was a major part of the trucking industry, I must respectfully disagree.

No, we want people to discuss politics, even there...but I am sick of the "tridentgirl" types that do nothing but spew hate. That's what this is for, LOL. We allow a LOT even on the truck forum...try that on some others, they will not even tolerate ANY politics and will kick you right off.

I have had a LOT of trucking forum operators tell me I should remove the politics section there...I REFUSE because you are right, politics IS a part of a trucker's life. ESPECIALLY with Mexicans taking their jobs and the like...so they can do without politics, we'll take care of it, LOL.

Politics can be discussed, but some people just get ragers on for each other, or for certain topics, and hijack every thread to turn over to their own agenda. Makes it difficult to talk trucking or talk politics with all the fanatics.

I think the bottom line is people really need to grow up. everybody gets so pissed when someone else don't see it their way. Myself and Wiseone disagree on allot of political points. but do i hate him ? noooo. While i might not see it his way or he my way we are both man enough to agree to disagree. I hold my beliefs in high regard as do most people. but i don't wanna go kill somebody just because they don't see it my way. that would make me no different than those a**hole's that pulled off 9/11 !!

I don't know. Maybe it's because I'm guilty of doing this, but I don't understand the definition of hijacking. I mean I understand when your talking about something static like HOS, and then someone starts talking about their CB and gets completely off topic like that. But in politics everything is fluid and can easily ran into each other. That's why I enjoy it, one minute your talking about the war in Iraq and the next second it can be linked to something about Mexican truck drviers. It's magical, and normally relivant. Some of the best and longest running threads at the other site have gone on like this, and I think it was/is one of the best parts of the politics forum at the other site. Because of the emotions and personal beliefs involved it's hard not to let it get away, and when you try to control it, that's when you kill the motivation. The biggest problem is when some people really cant handle hearing something they don't agree with, or like. That's a personal problem they have, it has nothing to do with the management of the board. Some people just don't like to be told their wrong. If someone tells me I'm wrong, they better be ready to prove it and I expect them to be the same way.
