| Hello, are we really talking in the real world? The middle east has never been peaceful and there never has been a lasting democracy. To say Turkey is a Democracy is to say the sun has a shadow. It's not America that destroys anyone's ability to become a democratic republic Antiochus, it's jealousy of America that inherits countries to despise us. If you hate us this much at your young age, I will buy you a ticket to the socialist country of your choice. You can live there for 5 years and then fly back on my dime and I will ask you again how America is so bad. Want to take my offer? I am dead serious! |

| 1) America has destroyed democracies. I mentionned the case of Iran (Operation Ajax), because its concequences are obvious now. The same is true about the U.S backed murder of Ngo Dinh Diem, which resulted in the terrible war in Vietnam. You also seem to forget the coup in Chile, during which the United States remplaced the democratically elected Allende by the monster know today as Pinochet. 2) The Middle East was united from the 1500s to 1918 under the Ottoman empire. Its current political chaos is mostly due the the Sykes-Picot treaty, which destroyed its geopolitical stability and the post-colonial status of half its other nations. 3)Why isnt Turkey a democracy. It had elections and is on the verge of entering the EU. Im well aware that its not perfect, but coming from a guy living in a nation with a man who stole the elections in 2000, the point is weak.
