It is not the style of goverment so much as the fact business is outbuying citizenry. Take the health care fracas. Joe 'For Sale' Lieberman took 1.8 million from healthcare agencies & Big Pharma to throw a monkey wrench into the works.

Our infrastructure is going backwards. Cities across the nation are reverting to gravel roads! In 1918 8th graders knew geometry, basic calculus, could read and write perfect English AND Latin, amongst other things. Today? US Public schools are a joke. So are our colleges where courses that used to be 2 credits got jacked into 3, then 4 and some to 6 credits with a corresponding DECREASE in content! Only 1 student in 250 can find China on a map. 1 in 180 can find their own STATE on an unlabeled map. Music programs? Gone. Art? Gone. Phys ed? Gone.

Colleges offer so many useless courses it makes serious students gag. I hold 3 degrees and I can tell anyone how to pass with straight A's: find out what the professor wants to hear and then parrot it back. Critical thinking? Forget it.

In 1960 the President said 'We're going to the moon before this decade is over!" and we did. Sadly we no longer believe in ourselves: we always cry 'VICTIM!' and seek to blame others for our lack of moral fiber. We have THE worst medical system of all modern nations. 5 states have health stats bordering on 3rd world status ( see the FDA's 2006 report on infant mortality).

Money talks. Until we get rid of Millionaire Row (aka the Senate) and force all candidates to spend exactly the same amount of money which will be provided to any/all candidates we will continue to have only the wealthy running things.

We no longer have any manufacturing facilities to speak of. 90% have left since NAFTA went into effect (why not? Companies get a tax break for taking OUR jobs overseas). The jokes on them, though. I know 4 companies who went to Mexico, Vietnam etc and found out what they 'saved' in salary they lost to theft, sabotage, and proprietary secrets being sold out from under their noses.

Meanwhile our middle class has shrunk to 1889 levels. Home ownership has dropped to 1957 levels. 85% of all bridges are in desperate need of replacement. By using precious water from the underground aquaduct below the Great Plains to raise rice (of all the silly ideas) in desert areas we've depleted water that took 50,000 yrs to collect and now whole cities are collapsing into holes as the Southwestern/Midwest US sink.

There's a highly dangerous fish (Asian Carp) about to invade the Great Lakes any day which will wipe out the entire fisheries of the US and the government does NOTHING but plays games of 'We won't help YOUR party' nah nah nah nah nah!

We need to throw ALL the incumbents out. We need to toss out EVERY professional politician and get regular Americans in there ( NOT tea party nitwits: those who think they can cram their personal version of G-d down everyone's throat. They can't even understand a)yes, Obama WAS born in the USA and b) no he's not a closet Muslim but a born-again Christian). We must get rid of the death penalty to show our youth that life is precious and not anyone's to take. Not even the State.

I've never figured out how the same people who march in protest at abortion clinics cheer for the Death penalty, decry giving starving kids breakfast during the summer, and hate the idea of healthcare for all (like every other industrial nation has - us being the exception, which is why our infant mortality rate is triple that of Sweden, our seniors DIE because wealthy nursing home owners got laws passed which allow non-nurses to pass meds (!) so over 1 million oopsies with harm happen each year & 65,000 DIE because of med errors made by aides who have NO training (FDA, 2006 Report to Congress.)The Patriot Act (What a clever dodge that was!) should be repealed in its entirety immediately seeing as it shreds more than 8 constitutional rights.

We need to shred EVERY law book written and work of the Constitution, period. I'm tired of cops turned into 1-armed bandits hitting citizens for even minor infractions (no warnings) and now, in states like Ohio, cops don't even need to use radar guns! They can 'guess' your speed based on their 'experience'.

Meanwhile, Christians are not teaching their children any morals or ethics. I'm sick of hearing people say 'my Darlene will choose her own faith when she's an adult' (gag!) Don't dump that task on teachers. They're too busy trying to teach to the GWB test.

People get the government they want. Obviously we want a greedy, corrupt, adulterous group of men who have no ethics or morals. Or we would've voted them out ages ago. At the very least we would have demanded the worst of them quit (like Sen. Ensign, Gov. Sanford, etc)
