Negative Thinking

Being of Sound mind and having a clear thinking process in the behavior nature of Human Nature, Why is it that it seems, All or most of all the Republicans mind set is Hell bent on denying or dismissing all changes or programs that befit the positive results necessary to get this country back on sound footing. It is highly known that the views and actions of the modern Republican party and it's office holders, constantly suppress any legistration to change the current situation that all Americans are currently faced with.
Here in 2009, after an alarming wake up call that finds their ranks severely depleted in means of power, you would think they would take the opportunity to take a positive stance and help, not just the democrats achieve respect with the public, but reestablish faith in their party in doing the right thing this time around to dismissed the concepts that they are only for the rich and powerful organizations in this country. We are in need of 100% unity with both parties in power, and I see that the new administration is reaching out asking for help from the republicans, and they still to this hour, refuse to give in or give up their disconcerning ways as usual. Even though they seat in a minority, not a single one of them have voted in favor of any resolutions to change the course that effects of all today. Instead, they keep trying to hold onto old standards and refuse to change. Our society has taken leaps and bounds to right the wrongs of many negative actions, and at first, when the Republican party choose a female to address there ideologies was a positive move for the womans movement to be viewed as equals in Government and even though it appears that the mindset of the republicans omit the participation of people of color, It is strange that they now have placed an African-American to lead the NCR post, which to me is just a token gesture.
I wish that they would stop being so Hell bent on slamming the doors close to change, and start participating in changing the status quo they represent. I personally feel that we should explore the possibility in demolishing the political parties by name and just call our system of the representation just "government", but I think the term in place is named, " independent "
any replies to my opinion can be made public. Thank you, and may God { and this goes out to those who still do not believe there is a God } bless America....
Thank you, John Haskins

Honestly, its in the spirit of legislature that the minority opposing political party will try to stone wall the majority party at achieving results. This is especially true if the minority party believes the aim of the majority party is flawed. So, what is going on now in Congress is nothing new... Seriously, any attempt the Republican Party makes to thwart legislation is essentially useless (other than the Filibuster) because at the end of the day Democrats have the authority to set calender for bills, and also hold most of the chairman seats for committees and subcommittees. If the Democrats really want to get something done, they can. Even stop a filibuster if they want... but only if they are willing to concede on some issues and renegotiate a bill based on compromise.

Only when you have a majority party, sometimes it splinters and two separate factions co-exist within the majority party. Because the interests of the Democratic party are so diverse, I could definitely see this happening over the next several years. As long as the Democrats keep a strong, unified leadership and have a really good whip in Legislature they can keep their party from splintering. My guess is that Democrats will split over the issue of the economy. Some think the best approach is to approve massive government expenditures, while others believe increased fiscal responsibility is the way to fix the economy.

Why would you want the end of political parties? People will still be stubborn, still believe the same things, and still oppose plans they don't agree with. There will be no common bond to identify groups of like-minded individuals, and create a massive spurt of uniformed voters (even moreso than what is happening now). Political Parties help the public understand unified leadership is present to see to it that the things they have a stake in are being pursued.

Although I'm not a Republican myself, it seems to me you are being rather unfair. The appointment of Michael Steele as Chairman of the National Republican Committee was not a token gesture. Michael Steele has a whole slew of accomplishments that made him the best fitting man for the job... I'll let you look up his resume, its very impressive. Plus as an added bonus hes more of a moderate Republican, which is what the leadership of the Republican party needs right now as they are trying to sort out what went wrong for them and where to go from there.

What is the sense of fighting between parties. We're all screwed. Every single one of us in this nation. Who cares anymore. Let us worry about tomorrow now and worry about what will happen when the hyper inflation kicks in. How many people will go hungry, crime will be out of control, the homeless numbers will rise. This is coming and it can't be stopped by some stimulus package or some measly person in the government or even by the majority of democrats.. There's no sense in even discussing it. What is coming is coming and there's noone to stop it.
