| My Ideal Government is a Representative Democracy alot like the one we have today with a few exceptions: 1. on matters concerning waging war, all information will be posted and presented to the public via a secure internet site. the people will then make an informed decision and through a direct democratic vote come to a resolution. 2/3 majority rule. 2. on matters concerning government civilian contracts, no company that is owned in full or in part by an official representative of the government shall be allowed to bid on said contract. this is a conflict of interest. Taxes The tax code shall be simple: 1. No tax cap shall be authorized. 2. A 10% federal income tax shall be enstated on all citizens of the U.S. no matter how much or little you make. this is to ensure equal burden of taxes upon all citizens. 3. all corporations with in the U.S. shall be considered individual citizens and are liable for income taxes on gross income. 4. there shall be no tax refund except in case of surplus funds with in the U.S. government. in which case a refund shall be given to all citizens of the U.S. in proper correlation to the taxes they paid the previous year. 5. if a national deficit exists then any surplus tax money goes to pay off the deficit before any refund be granted to the citizens of the U.S. Education 1. a single national education standard shall be set in order to properly compete economically and intellectually with other nations. 2. a national education fund is to be set up to allow any american citizen with proper prerequisites to attend a college of their choice outside the U.S. if they so choose. (coming soon!!! detailed ideas for the international college fund.) Judicial 1. Should a group of citizens representing 1% of the population of the U.S. come to grievances over whether or not an act of congress is constitutional the act is to be reveiwed again with those greivances in consideration and judgement must be passed. 2. the aforementioned shall also be the case with an executive order. 3. punishments for Government officials and representatives of the people for crimes shall be more harsh than those placed upon regular citizens, for reasons being that they hold a higher position of trust and responsibility within the American society. Executive 1. The President of the United States shall not issue an executive order for war except in case of extreme time sensitive neccesity. 2. The President Of the United States shall have the authority to declare marshall law only in case of invasion from a foreign military force or violent insurrectionists within the united states. this Marshall law shall exist only for a total of 10 consecutive days after which, unless approved by 3/4 majority vote of Congress for a set period of time, shall end upon the 11th day. 3. should the President of the United States fail to properly represent the will of the people of the U.S. as a majority, he/she shall be impeached. should the President be found guilty, he/she shall be banned from holding any elected/appointed public office or any office of honor for ever. these are just a few ideas. please...tell me if you think i'm nuts or not. thanks for reading.

| I think you are nuts! You didn't start off on a bad track, but you went off on one almost immediately. That's why we have the choice to vote and who we want to vote for so that all opinions intermingle to consolidate one vote. Keep the opinions flowing, don't let anyone ever tell you to stop, that is what freedom is all about! |

| I disagree profoundly with such support for representative "democracy" as well as aspects of your proposed tax code that exacerbate the tyrannies of capitalism. I favor direct democracy, and a transition to a libertarian socialist society, specifically an anarcho-communist one. I believe it is feasible for public, direct democratic control of society to exist without a state or other centralized command structure, and that communities can be governed through decentralized, nonhierarchical, bottom up means, as the Spanish anarchis collectives were. Public control without a state would essentially function through a federation of voluntary communes and syndicates that are democratically managed through participatory committees and workers’ councils. This would mean placing emphasis on grassroots neighborhood committees, community assemblies and other direct democratic associations rather than the centralized state. Instead of a “top-down,” centralized governance system, an anarchist society would function using a “bottom-up,” decentralized governance system. Neighborhood assemblies would be open to the general public, and these assemblies will be the primary (and final) governors of public policy in their jurisdiction. Public policy would be determined by direct democratic means, and delegates would be assigned to deal with the task of public policy administration. These delegates would be recallable at any time by a direct democratic vote, as opposed to the current dictatorial political system. Various sections and aspects of the Paris Commune are an illustrative example of this sort of direct democracy in action. Workers’ councils would be specifically intended to address workers’ needs and concerns, and would determine workplace management and administration through direct democracy, again. Control of the means of production would be granted to both these democratically managed workers’ councils, as well as to the citizens of the locality, if some of the workers are not both. The community assemblies would primarily serve as complementary features of workers’ councils for citizens who do not perform conventional work (such as parents with small children, the elderly, the disabled, the sick, etc.) If the community’s industrial aspects are properly and efficiently managed through direct democracy, this would result in increased benefits for the workers and surrounding community. The workers themselves would be able to distribute and delegate work tasks and administration evenly among themselves, and thus form a far more efficient workforce, resulting in increased production levels and benefits, as well as decreased work hours and shortages. Soviets initially functioned this way, until the Bolsheviks began to forcefully collectivize land and resources, and delegated control of the means of production to high-level bureaucrats rather than workers. Through community and industrial unionism, decisions regarding the means of production and public policy affecting the wider community could be made in an efficient, direct democratic manner. Communes would function as free, voluntary associations that would not force citizens to work or govern. Participatory committees would be freely joined and democratically managed, as opposed to the current situation, when all are forced to either work or die, because of the system of wage slavery that exists. An ideal commune would grant the minimal means of life even to those who were able but not willing to work. They would not grant them nonessential public services, however, unless they chose to participate in the work and management of the commune. As for those who were unable to work, they would still be granted full public services, as well as be permitted to have some degree of participation through community assemblies. In the workplace itself, hierarchical authority structures would be dismantled in favor of direct democratic management. Policy creation would be given to the workers’ councils, and specific delegates and workers would be assigned to manage specific policy administrations, as is the case with the community assemblies. No longer would a separation between labor and management exist. The laborers would be the managers. Separate groups of order-givers and order-takers would no longer exist, and positions that solely emphasized management would not exist, as they would be useless and unnecessary. Through these methods, the workplace would not only function more democratically, it would function more efficiently, as workers are more intimately familiar with the conditions of the workplace than distant, unassociated managers are, and would be better qualified and capable to manage it properly. The neighborhood and community assemblies would be the other segment of participatory committees to manage society as a whole. Towns and cities would essentially be formed from smaller neighborhood assemblies, which in turn would be federated at the regional and national levels in order to provide collective benefits to all involved. (The participatory committees would remain autonomous, of course, and could secede from larger federations if its member saw fit.) The assemblies would primarily address governance at the local level, and would ensure that all community members were provided with sufficient public services such as food, housing, healthcare, transportation, communication, etc. If there were councils or delegates that managed these assemblies, they would not possess an executive or bureaucratic status, and would primarily be intended to address specific facets of policy administration that would be too cumbersome and inefficient for management by the wider assembly. Assemblies would be summoned on a regular basis, as often as required or necessitated by communal interests and issues, upon the request of the communal council or the consensus of the inhabitants of the local community. Local inhabitants would deliberate and address local issues and problems, and implement direct democratic management techniques in order to address them, possibly appointing additional councils or delegates in order to address them. Lower levels of assemblies would maintain control over higher levels, thus reversing the unjust infliction of hierarchical, top-down authority structures. Anarcho-communism fundamentally seeks to abolish and dismantle hierarchical, authoritarian relationships, both in the social and economic realms. Communism would be implemented from the bottom-up, not the top-down. In this manner, it would be based on free association, not on forced collectivization. True and legitimate communism can never be coercive. |

| My friends, as Johm Mc Cain would say, you still don´t get it. Our system of government has not failed. The people have failed the system! We have the exact government we deserve, thugs and theives! Why? Because a Representative Democracy requires participation of an edcucated, informed, moral and ethical citizenry. We have a nation of Cheeto eating, beer drinking, WWE watching, sofa sitting, apathetic, uninterested, uneducated, morons! So now we have the parasites that are robbing and raping this country and it´s people! While the vast majority are sitting there like sheep for the slaughter. Not giving a damm about what´s happening to their country! No! I have another kind of government in mind. It was reflected somewhat in the movie Starship Troopers. Americans can´t handle Demcracy any better than anyone else. So, I would like to see a system of government that is led by the military. A system where the people can participate if they so choose. However, citizenship is earned and has several levels. Level 1 Basic Citizen: This is earned by completing all required education. This includes grades k through 12 and at least 2 years of advanced studies or vocational training. This level allows a person to work and own property. Level 2 Advanced Citizen: This is earned by successful military service of at least 4 years and continued service in the Guard, Reserves, or Police. This allows a person to vote and to run for an office no higher than state level. This person must also continue their education in history, ethics, and government to run for office. Level 4 Elder Citizen: This level requires at least 10 years full time active duty in the military with continued service in the National Guard. Also it requires at least a Master´s Degree in one of the following areas, International Relations, Economics, Defense and War Strategies, and Business. Addition studies are government administration at federal levels, history, communication, law, and ethics. This level allows the citizen to run and to be appointed to federal offices. Everyone can participate at a level of their choosing. Those that choose not to take part will not get any federal aid in education. They cannot vote. They will be at the bottom of the society at their own choosing. In a system such as this. Where the population is educated, informed, and makes a personal investment in their country and fellow citizen by serving, their life will be harsh. This will be a motivator! We will have a General Administrator from one of the armed services as President. They will serve no more than 1 term of 5 years. The President will have a Cabinet of advisers. They can only serve for 2 years. Each state will have 1 representative . There is no Senate. There are no lobbyists. However, a Representative can have access to any information he needs to vote VIA the internet and advisers the are not paid for by those that would profit from his vote. The penalty for corruption in any office is public hanging. |
