Maybe It’s Time for A Second American Revolution

Why have Americans become so passive? Why have we allowed the popularly elected government officials to take our money and use it for frivolous things? Why have we allowed them to rape our freedoms and shackle us as slaves to "The System"? Why have we willingly sacrificed the principles that our great country was founded on to satiate some "Fat Politician" in D.C.?

We no longer have Justice, freedom, or even the individual privacy that we have cherished since the founding of our great country. We can no longer punish our children for fear of incarceration. (A felony conviction of child abuse is punishable by up to 25 years in prison.) We can no longer punish our animals for fear that an animal activist will scream Animal Abuse! We can no longer smoke cigarettes in public in some states. We can no longer leave the comfort of our homes unless fully dressed without fear of being charged with indecent exposure or even RAPE! We can no longer hug a friend without fear of giving offense. One cannot even read their e-mail without the possiblility that Big Brother is Watching.

When the First American Revolution took place the laws passed by Parliament, such as the Townshend Act and The Stamp Act, spurred some of Americas Greatest Hero’s. Ben Franklin, Sam Adams, James Otis and Patrick Henry all demonstrate the brave patriotism that Americans are so proud of. They spoke out against the excesses of Government and they fought back. These American heroes were called terrorist and outlaws by the legally appointed government of the time. The were willing to forfeit their lives to ensure the individual freedoms that Americans have always cherished. With such acts as TARP, the Economic Stimulus packages (1,2, and 3), the equal housing act, the immigration act, and the proposed fairness doctrine we are sacrificing more freedoms than the original founding fathers fought so valiantly to protect.

Americans are Cowards. We fear our neighbors oppinion more than we cherish our freedom to act. We fear a government that will censor our words. We fear the consequence of fighting for our freedoms. Benjamin Franklin once said "Where there is no justice, there is no courage." Americans have been cowed and buffaloed into forgetting the values that our great nation was founded on. Government should be afraid of its people, the people should not be afraid of their government. We are the ones who put them in power. We are the ones who can remove them.

Maybe we need a Boston Tea Party. However, instead of throwing all the tea off the ships maybe we should eliminate one of the other overly taxed commodities. (ie. corn, tobacco, gasoline, etc.) Stop Shipping them, stop buying them, or even destroy them permanently. That might wake them up in Washington. Perhaps we need to march on them and remove the corrupt politician from their seats forcibly if need be. We could call it the D.C. Tea party.

Too many Americans will no longer stand up for their rights and freedoms. They are too afraid of The Government. They have become complacent in their current situations. They want someone else to solve it for them. They wish everyone else would take it away. They won’t do what is needed.

Imagine if a few hundred thousand Heroic Americans were to descend on D.C. without a permit to assemble. Not to fight, just to block the city from operating. Imagine if they refused to disperse when ordered. Imagine if they all allowed themselves to be arrested and demanded their constitutional right to a speedy and fair trial. If an individual is arrested and not processed within 48 hours they must be immediately released. The entire city would be bankrupt within 24 hours. In three weeks the entire country would be bankrupt.

Americans need to wake up. Look around you. It is not going to change. It is not going to get better by electing one of the Fools that are currently in power. The only way it is going to change is if we all rise up and fight for our freedoms, fight for our country in whatever way possible. Take it back from the asinine fools and idiots that we have given it to.

No one can change this country, but us all. No One man can change any thing, but 10000 can start a movement. No One person can alter what we see around us. No One person can do it all. But 10000 speaking out can change the world. Yes, one person can lead them all, but the others are needed. Thomas Jefferson, Benjamin Franklin, George Washington, John Hancock, and all our Founding Fathers needed each other.

Open your eyes people. See the fall of our country around you. See the desecration of our freedoms, see the invasion of foreign armies, see the destruction of the moral fiber and backbone of America. We are lost, our country is dying and we are letting it happen. It is not too late yet. We can still change things. America is no longer the Land of the Free the Home of the Brave. We have become the Land of the slave and Home of the Coward.

Why because they are lazy and have become complacent
and want someone else to do the work of running the government and they don't want to be bothered......people don't want to be responsiable for raising their kids, seeing they are educated, they want the government to take care of every whim that comes to mind instead of waiting for the free market to correct things lets just have the government fix it for us...well people the government has really fixed things now! I could go on for hours.....but y'all know what I mean.....

Just wanted to say I agree wholeheartedly, and I hope you comment more on the forum. I think the solution to fix this problem is to rid people of apathy concerning politics. When people care about issues that are going on you will see a difference in how things are handled. I also think a large part of the problem is that people vote in elections that are ignorant of issues and exactly what they mean to our country and our economy in the LONG TERM... VOTE only if you are educated about a candidate. Ignorance and apathy are killing this country.
