So I think it is sad with the trend irresponsible politics and increasing government regulation in virtually every aspect of our lives. The american government has been moving left (with little resistance from us conservatives) for quite a while. It seems a Socialistic transition is the path. Looking at the history of nations and civilizations only provides more evidence that eventually free societies trend towards socialism or communism until eventually the system fails (ends in economic collapse, you'd think we would learn by now), then a dictator or some such system of ultra-right facism takes hold (remeber Hitler, Stalin, Musolinni?) until society progresses slowly back. It seems to be the cycle of nations.

As much as I want to help people see the full consequences of increasing government regulation and the pitfalls of programs like a nationalized healthcare system I can't help but think that it is simply the path all civilizations take and that people, will always trend towards this. All evidence points towards this cycle. I try to be optimistic but stopping the trend may not be an option. Nevertheless if we can wake up and look beyond ourselves and learn from the mistakes of our fathers, then maybe, just maybe we can realize the destructive cycle we are on.
