Fall Of The American Empire Discuss the ways in which America is falling. The Roman Empire never had this chance to discuss their own downfall, we do...what do you think? Immorality, gay marriage, political correctness, selfishness, hatred, rage, complete and utter apathy is going to destroy America, period. You know what's going to kill America?

So here's a fun fact. In 2004, only 64% of eligible voters in this country actually cast a ballot. Golly, that sounds like an awful lot, doesn't it? Seeing as how it was the highest turnout since 1992 (according to [LINK POSTED BY MEMBER] Only Members Can View This Political Forum Link. )?

Bullsh*t. It's not a lot. It's just over half. That's reprehensible at best, and disgusting at worst. This is supposed to be a democratic nation; land of the free, home of the brave, blah blah blah. Where are people's hearts? You want to know what's going to kill America? AMERICANS. We can't even be bothered to get off our couches, put down the X-Box control for a half-hour, and go decide who runs the country. Frankly, if that's how we treat our "freedom" we don't deserve what we have left of it.

Look at this. We need celebrities and musicians to convince us -- CONVINCE US -- to go vote.

It's actually more important to the entertainment industry -- people who make more money than you or I will likely ever see -- that we defend our right to choose. That's really pathetic, America. Really.

Disagree? Prove me wrong then. Quit complaining and go vote. You got a week to decide on your chosen candidate, if you haven't done it already.

loved your thing about people not voting but the sad mute point is that we as Americans don't honestly in reality vote the President into office.

We only hold the popular vote. Whoopeee!!!

The electoral college is who in reality puts who they want into office. All we are is the pep squad going "rah rah for Obama". Whatever.....

I didn't vote for him, thank god.
