IDK, I am so tore on this one. I can see that it IS her body...but I can also understand that we SHOULD be above the animals because we have the ability to think. I tend to think of life as precious and hate the thought of a baby's brains being sucked out at birth and thrown into a garbage can. I mean, there are sooo many people who can't have kids that would LOVE to have the very same baby that just had its skull collapsed and threw into a trash can. Heck, I wonder if the baby would be better off in a gay household than hurled into a garbage can. It just seems so sick. BUT, what if the woman was raped? Wow, would that be horrible to have to give birth to some a**hole's baby. I do NOT agree with the government saying what ANYONE can do with his/her body in private. Of course, if people are cracking on the street, they should be stopped, but we should be careful. IDK, I guess my problem is that pesky little word, "empathy." I feel for that life that was brutally hurled into a waste basket. BUT, that's true...it is her body to do with what she will. This is a HARD subject.

I understand your point. If a baby is going to be thrown into a garbage can, I would rather see it happen before it is born, because gosh knows it happens too much after they are born and growing. Yes, there are many people who would give anything to have that baby, I would love to see every woman who is faced with an unwanted child give it up for adoption. But eliminating safe and legal abortion just so women can give up their babies for adoption is a scary future that I just don't want to see. The conservatives always search out some screwed up woman who had 9 abortions to make their point about abortion, but the majority of women who have abortions are not that way. They are women and children who found themselves on the wrong end of a pregnancy test. It is not all dumb teens, plenty of older, married women turn to abortion too. The majority of women who turn to abortion don't relish the thought of abortion, they are not that caviler about human life. But they are doing what they feel has to be done, and it is their bodies.

That's true...good points. I had a girlfriend who had an abortion once (no, not mine...before me) and it messed her mind up for sure. Her mind was just tore up from it. ANY woman who does have an abortion is never the same (if she has any heart/feelings at all). I wonder why we all can't use rubbers or take birth control though so this never comes up. Yes, there are accidents, but darn...WAY too many "accidents" to be sure. Seems there are far too many abortions. I know what you are saying though...if a woman is determined to destroy the life inside her, she should at least be able to have a safe abortion and not have to go to some witch doctor.

All it takes for most people is to see a video of a real partial birth abortion and see the baby squirming and trying as hard as it can to get out of the way of the scissors. I cannot believe anything so brutal takes place in our country. People are so selfish. We will do everything in medical power to keep a baby alive after being in the womb only 4-5 months, and call it a baby, yet shove a pair of scissors in ones head that's much older, suck the brains out of it because it's not wanted because it's a womans choice to do so. I think everyone should be forced to watch this take place.
