The amusing Conservatives
This thread, is the one of the aggressive Conservative who seems to believe that he is right in all things and, as a result, can say anything (disgarding even basic ethiquette).
I have a perfect exemple of this where a member of this forum seems to project so hard it is funny.
Let's hear a debate in reality Antiochus, since you haven't lived long enough to know about reality!
Trust me, you can forget any semblance of reality as you now know it if that is what you want, and also trust me, if that is what you want I will hunt you down and eradicate you if you are trying to kill America.
1) Openly rejecting your opponent based on his age is a textbook sign of total lack of confidence. Its about looking for a disqualification line that isnt there to gain points. This tactics is usually dropped when the person reach a more mature state at the end of childhood.
2) Using the words '' Trust me'' twice in the same sentence is usually another sign of lack of confidence.
3) Threats of violence is either a sign of lack of maturity, paranoļa or lack of self control.
Those traits are common on forums are in the Public life. It is very ironic that those actions show a psychological pattern mostly found in childrens. But it is true that it is stopping the dialog to evolve in anything else than something completly static. Im not saying that all conservatives are like that. But it is clear that this way of interacting is actually hurting their cause.
just for kicks, here is the basic rule of this forum:
Welcome to our political forum! We tolerate ANY political ideology here. Keep it clean and you can say what you want! We don't care if you are a liberal, conservative, communist, socialist...you can say what you think. Beware, politics can get hot! This is NOT a place for children.

| | O.K., I wish your spelling teacher might have given you some advice as well. But, that aside, I believe in America with all my heart and LOVE my country! So, I guess, if you take that into consideration I get a little defensive when I hear people talking in a socialist manner when this is a capitalist society and was founded as a Republic, not a Democracy. I've found that everyone who thinks in a liberal manner(socialist, progressive, same thing) always finds it offensive if somebody attacks their point of view but thinks quite the opposite if they are the ones getting down to the nitty gritty. I do say "trust me" a lot in conversation, I guess every politician does as well! But, "trust me" when I say I will defend my country until my last breath. It's been said many times, in many ways, that if you are 20 and not a liberal you don't have a heart. If you are 40 and not a conservative, you don't have a brain. I believe that holds true in most cases, when I was your age I was pretty anti-social. I was raised dirt poor (literally, we had a dirt floor in our house) and have been working since the age of 8 to help provide for my family. I have risen up the ladder through 80 hour work weeks all my life and consider myself blessed to be where I am today and I have much disdain for those who choose to work not, or haven't even been in the working class yet to see how much of the fruits of their labor are being stripped from their paychecks, yet think they know what they are talking about in that aspect! This country was built on hard work and sweat and deservedly expects the government to stay out of our lives, all of the people who fought and died for this country would be turning in their graves to see how Romanesque we are becoming and not even shining a light on the lessons of history. If you've been taught revisionist history in school, then I guess you aren't the one to blame but your teachers should be held accountable. I am extremely confident in my knowledge and abilities and will debate anyone on anything. I haven't had the priviledge of meeting a psychiatrist, I guess, I've been strong enough of will and mind to not find it necessary to visit one, some people call the Bible a crutch, I think psychiatrists and psychologists are a crutch. If you call turning socialist a dialog then I would state that your dialog will soon end as soon as everything becomes socialist and we become wards of the state rather than a free people. I care not, to live in a society where I would become incarcerated for speaking my mind. Our forefathers tried to learn from history by bringing the best aspects of society over here, not falling back on all the detestable aspects. Yet, our Congressional, so-called representatives forget about representing us as soon as they get to Washington and vote for every hair-brained measure that comes across their desk as soon as they can put their little measure of pork into the bill. Both political parties have equal ownership of the mis-representation of the public and it's pretty easy to get angry with all the B.S. nowadays. BTW, threats of violence are what keep the peace in all corners of the world. It's kind of hard to not threaten sometimes when people say things that are so idiotic that can threaten your own existence, again, you have the freedom to move to a socialist country and try it out to see if it fits your bill. My bet is, you would kiss the ground the instant you got back to America. I'll quote someone else on this very loosely, but regarding Obama, "Hope and Image are not strategies, neither is hating Bush a fact based resolution". We tried change for "changes sake" in the seventies and we got Carter, 21% interest rates, 13% unemployment and a misery index. Having lived through that, I do not want to live through it again. But, if we have to, to get our priorities straight again, I will see it through and people will be so mad, there will be another landslide vote that will put this country in the right direction again. Personally, I believe the polling has it dead wrong as they did in 2000 and 2004, but even more so this time since the mainstream media has become so left-slanted for Barack. I think it will be a landslide for McCain. Just for kicks, I don't deny you your right to free speech, but you are dead wrong. |

| | And you have the right to think people are wrong. But the fact remains that there are several countries that live with policies that are much more progressist than the U.S (UK, France, Germany, Canada, Italy ect) and they dont have it that bad. The fact that Carter sucked is just a sign that he sucked. As for the efficiency of the Congress: What can we truly expect in a nation divided between two ideologies convinced that the other is dead wrong? |

| | The fact remains that the U.K., France, Germany, Canada and Italy suck. Do we have to lower our standards of living just because they have selected to do so? Where do all the people in need of medical attention from the aforesaid countries go when we decide to suck as much as they do? Who cares if someone percieves them as more progressive? What could be more progressive than having been created hundreds of years ago and not thousands and still not having learned from experience. The fact that Carter was a liberal, trying to enact liberalism was a sign that liberalism sucks. I don't know what your work experience is, but I don't want to work half of the year for free and have people other than my parents always constantly telling me what to do. I absolutely object to that as a free person! Congress will constantly be locked until Americans actually care to vote, maybe we do need a kick in the ###. Give it to one or the other and then let's see another Tea party, maybe that's what this Republic needs. I don't know about you, but when the last bastion of real freedom is gone, what is going to be left? I don't want to be a subject with a number. |

| | I don't see anything progressive about socialism, in fact it's regressive! |

| | Why doesn't the response take his place when it is completely refuted and he is subjected? |
Posted 10.13.2008 at 03.25 AM by metermaidbf1 |
| | There is no response because I have completely slaughtered your ### on this point! Have a great life. |

| | Antiochus, I won't let your age be a detriment, but if you want to learn a little bit about reality, please challenge me! |

| | Conservative poster: Its almost like you have lost the last eight years. What you describe is what the United States was. Presently, the US led by the conservative Bush43 socialized the financial markets. The Patriot Act allows the federal government to tap anyone's phone. We have tortured and incarcerated individuals foreign and domestic, on trumped up charges and forbit them from council and their date in court. Our national debt has doubled in 8 years. Our balance of trade deficit has increased to over $700 billion a year. Bush43 has taken the Clinton war machine and turned it into silly puddy. Our government has increased by over 20% in the last 7 years. The conservatives have placed judges in strategic positions to legislate from the bench. When Federal Judges refused to legislate from the bench, they fired them (8 proven). Conservatives have transferred wealth from 60% of the population to the top 1 or 2%. So much wealth has been taken from the middle class that our economy is almost collapsing. I want conservatism to be what it used to be: not what it has become. "America doesn't deserve peace and prosperty. America deserves war and deficits". Respectfully, wdp VN Class of 1970 |
